đ Wild-Caught Fish: A Breakdown by Ocean
What Weâre Showing
This map visualizes how much wild-caught fish is sourced from each of the worldâs oceans annually. Data was sourced from the UNâs Food and Agriculture Organization, current up to 2022.
Most of it comes from the Pacific
Nearly 60% of all fish caught in the ocean are captured in the Pacific.
Covering more than 60 million square miles, the Pacificâs vast size and varying ecosystems support a wide variety of fish species, making it highly productive for fishing.
